Saturday 26th January - Big sky studios, London
I couldn't imagine any better way to have spent my Saturday than assisting stylist Jeanie on a shoot for SLEEK magazine. It was so exciting to be back working on an editorial shoot were my passion for styling lies. Working with an amazing yet small team of professional hair and make up artists and photographer reminded me why I have spent so long working for free because the buzz you get from the flow of your creativity is priceless. As well as learning about the innovative magazine I also learned some tips from Jeanie, like her one rail rule. A rule I will surely be adapting as everyone knows how overwhelming it can be having a number of overflowing rails of clothes to choose from when, 99% of the time on any shoot the time you have to complete the shoot is very tight. So this little rail of bright clothing from McQueen to Versace, leather to lace was a perfect selection for the shoot, however the clothes are only the tip of the iceberg the mood and depth imagery is created by a combination of amazing clothes, exciting lighting, facial expressions and boy movements.
An issue of Sleek, big sky studios, some sneak peaks, and the two things I wouldn't have survived the day without, my iPad and green tea.
